In 1994, the Scholarship for Humanity was established through the personal donation of Trustee Phil A. Long. The Foundation Trustees later voted to augment Mr. Long's initial seed fund by transferring funds from the Sarah Ernst Darnall Subfund in order to provide financial assistance to members of CISV who are currently pursuing a career which will benefit humankind.
In a similar case, another Foundation Trustee, Vicki Tejada and her husband, Peter established the Peter and Vicki Tejada Fund through their own personal contribution. This scholarship was implemented to benefit children and adults from low income and/or ethnic background enabling their participation in the programs of the CISV San Francisco Bay Chapter. Since this scholarship fund was severely depleted during the economic downturn in 2009, it is not presently available for disbursements. Once the Tejada Fund is active again, applications will be available by contacting the Foundation Trustees via e-mail at trustees@fccuusa.org
The Foundation for Cross Cultural Understanding manages two scholarship funds. They are listed below.
