Responsibilities

The Trustees of the Foundation are responsible for the following functions:
  • Safeguarding the assets of the Foundation and for taking reasonable steps for the prevention of fraud or other irregularities
  • Preparing yearly financial statements which give a true and fair view of the Foundation’s financial activities for that period
  • Reviewing and approving grant applications, offering support and assistance as needed with grant applicants
  • Receiving and approving reports from grant applicants
  • Encouraging CISV USA’s National Association, its National Committees, and its Chapters to apply for grants
  • Staying informed of CISV USA actions and policies.

Qualifications

​The qualifications of a Foundation for Cross Cultural Understanding Trustee include:
  • Background and knowledge in finance and/or investment
  • Ability to communicate by teleconference, e-mail, or in writing
  • Willingness to attend in-person meetings of the Foundation as needed
  • Participation in all online meetings of the Foundation
  • A familiarity with the CISV organization, its programs and projects.

Nominating a Trustee

Individuals interested in becoming a Foundation Trustee should complete a Trustee Candidate Resume Form and send a signed copy via e-mail to trustees@fccuusa.org or send a hard copy to the FCCU at 9200 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45242 by October 1st.

Former Trustees

The individuals listed here have all served at various times on the Board of the Foundation for Cross Cultural Understanding. As Trustees they have each taken their responsibility in safeguarding the Foundation’s assets very seriously. Trustees on the Board of the Foundation continue to serve without pay or other compensation participating in numerous meetings each year, dealing with multiple documents, discussions, investment strategies and reports, financial advisors, tax filings, and budgets. They are lauded here in appreciation of what their dedicated work has meant to the many beneficiaries of their efforts.
